The Snow Cramp XXL and the Mountain Law

Every year, from 1 November to 31 March, the Mountain Law requires drivers to have removable anti-slip devices available to equip two powered wheels.

The Mountain Law in 4 points

• Heavy goods vehicles must be equipped with winter tyres on at least 2 powered and steering wheels on the main steering axle.
• Removable anti-slip devices must be readily available.
• The system must ensure vehicle start-up, guidance and braking.
• At all times, at least one gripping element not parallel to the direction of travel must be in contact with the ground (tolerance in the system closure area limited to 1.5 times the average distance between two contact points).
