Protect your equipment with a sleeve

To comply with European standards (EN 1492-1, EN 1492-2 for lifting and EN 12195-2 for lashing), it is mandatory to protect equipment in contact with sharp edges and corners. In addition, whatever the situation, adding a protective sleeve is recommended. The addition of a protective sleeve also offers multiple advantages for your equipment:

Protects both the equipment and the lifted or secured load.
Extends the service life of your lifting slings and straps.
Protection against cuts and abrasion.

Depending on the type of equipment, different sleeves and solutions are available.

The sleeve can be fixed or removable. It is also possible to have sleeves completely independent from your sling thanks to Velcro fastenings. For a round sling, a sleeve can be fitted on one or two legs.

Textile sleeves

The 100% high-tenacity polyester textile fibre is a simple and cost-effective way to protect your lifting slings. Whether for round slings or flat webbing slings, tubular or flat sleeves adapt to all types of slings and lengths.

Grizzly textile sleeve made of UHMWPE fibre

Made from UHMWPE fibre, sliding or sewn, Grizzly sleeves provide excellent resistance to abrasion, cuts and moisture. Several configurations are available for all types of textile equipment: fixed or removable sleeves, with or without VELCRO.

UHMWPE fibre (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a material particularly suited to the manufacture of high-strength round slings designed for lifting heavy loads in offshore and onshore industries.

It offers high resistance to abrasion, cuts and moisture.

Polyurethane sleeves

Polyurethane sleeves protect flat webbing slings, wire rope slings and chain slings. They are made from a textile sheath designed to make sling insertion easier, covered with a polyurethane elastomer coating.

Prevent load slipping.
High structural resistance.
Very high resistance to abrasion, water and cuts.
Excellent elasticity.
Extend the service life of the sling.
Protect the load.
Sliding sleeves that make strap installation easier, without jolts.

For lifting loads with sharp or cutting edges, reinforced versions of the sleeves are available, either with cable or mesh reinforcement. Other configurations are also possible, such as articulated versions for greater flexibility.
