Calculation of load stability
Before being secured, a load must always be checked for stability. Whilst calculations exist for this purpose, PMS Industrie makes the task easier for you with its load stability calculation tool, which can be found below:
You need to enter three details: the length, width and height of your load, in cm. Then enter these figures manually into the corresponding fields.
Then click on ‘Calculate’. Our tool will then tell you whether your load is stable or not.
Real-time stowage capacity calculation
Secure your load safely by calculating the minimum capacity required for the four devices used:
1 - Work out your angles
Enter the height and length of your load to be secured for the alpha angle and the beta angle.
2 - Enter the materials used for your load and your floor.
A drop-down list allows you to choose from a wide range of materials. This will enable the system to calculate the coefficient of friction, which is used to work out your lashing capacity in real time.
3 - Enter the mass of your load
4 - Click on ‘Calculate’
Friction or overlap fastening
This tab allows you to calculate the number of straps required for friction lashing.
1 - Enter your STF
Not sure how to find this information? Check the traceability label on your system; this information must be included there.
2 - Enter the mass of your load (in kg)
3 - Specify the material of the load and the floor
Two drop-down menus allow you to select the materials for your load and your floor
4 - Calculate the angle between the strap and the load
Enter the height of the load and the length of the strap between the attachment point and the floor manually.
5 - Calculate
This will tell you how many lashing systems you need.
